Georgia Power estimates that at least 500 customers as storms approach Polk County late this afternoon and into the evening hours. The outage is centered around the Prior Station Road and Esom Hill Road area of western Polk County.

An outage has also been reported in the Cedartown area as well, mainly around the North College Street corridor. Update: number updated to 553 customers.

The National Weather Service is predicting that any scattered thunderstorms could be severe. No watches or warnings were yet in effect for the area.
