A Rockmart woman was jailed on multiple charges after she was reported to 911 for kicking a vehicle, yelling at a tree and had to be forced by Rockmart Police into custody, according to Rockmart Police reports.
On Sunday, August 1, police arrested 21-year-old Ivy Marie Hudgins of 278 Lowery Road, Rockmart, on charges of obstructing law enforcement officers, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and possession of a Schedule II controlled substance after she fled from victims who reported her for kicking their vehicle and heading off onto the Silver Comet Trail from the Veterans Plaza at the trailhead at Seaborn Jones Park.
When police arrived and found her on the trail, she initially didn’t want to cooperate and police were forced to pin her against an RPD patrol vehicle to get her under control and in custody.
Police searched a bookbag she had and the area and didn’t find a pipe she claimed to have, but she told them she might have contraband on her person and thus avoided a felony charge for bringing drugs across the jail guard line.
Hudgins during her arrest told police she might have contraband on her, and when further searched at the Polk County Jail was found to have methamphetamine on her person.
She remained in the Polk County Jail as of this posting on a $7,000 bond.
