A road less traveled ended up being the wrong spot for a pair who were found with multiple types of drugs in their possession, according to Polk County Police reports from late last week.
Officers found Devin Lamar Pace, 38, and Sherry Lynn Parker, 45, both of Cedartown addresses, parked on the dirt portion of Coaling Road on Friday afternoon, March 21, 2025. The pair in a 2014 Toyota Camry were pulled into the turnoff for a hunting property on the road, had been there before according to a caller into 911 complaining about their presence.
When police found the pair still inside the car, they noted the “odor of marijuana was emitting from the vehicle.” But weed was the least of what PCPD found inside.
Pace when pulled from the car when police asked to search due to their suspicions about drugs possibly being inside, and he admitted the crack cocaine found in his pocket was indeed what it appeared to be.
Police continued their search and found bags of suspected Fentanyl, ecstasy, and an unmarked container with 35 gabapentin pills. Some additional pills – later believed to be blood pressure medication – was also found during the search and later disposed of at the Sheriff’s Office using their pill disposal drop box available to the public.
An open bottle of gin was also found next to where Pace sat in the passenger seat.
Pace and Parker both faced multiple felony charges following the Friday discovery of drugs in their vehicle.
Those include possession of ecstasy, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance with intent to distribute. The pair also faced a misdemeanor dangerous drugs charge as well.
Pace also faced an additional felony charge of his own for possession of cocaine, and a misdemeanor charge for an open container violation.
Both remained in custody as of this posting awaiting bond to be set on the felony and misdemeanor charges.
