Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome reported that a 17-year-old male was the victim of a single gunshot wound in an incident on Queen Street in Cedartown this evening.

Newsome said details are still being developed and an investigation is underway, but so far was only able to share that the victim was transported with non-life-threatening injuries to a Rome-area medical center following the shooting.

All individuals involved in the incident have been accounted for this evening, Newsome reported.

The chief said additional details would follow about the incident when available.
