Cedartown Police are seeking the public’s help this evening if they happen to have more information about the driver and occupants inside of a white SUV that is a suspect vehicle in a drive-by shooting on Central Street this evening.
Per Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome, officers didn’t have much information immediately to release about the incident this evening, that took place around 7:03 p.m., when officers arrived on the scene.
He did say that suspect or suspects got away in a white SUV, per a description from witnesses.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident or any major damage to property. Newsome did note a “couple of cars were hit” during the incident.
“Incidents like this are a real threat to the safety and quality of life of the people of a community,” Newsome said. “I’m thankful that no one was hurt but it could’ve been a tragedy. I urge anyone with information to come forward.”
Those with information are asked to contact 911 immediately. The suspects could be armed and dangerous.
