
A man was charged with several felonies following a domestic incident where he was accused of pointing a pistol at another person and was later “agitated” during his arrest, per Polk County Police.
PCPD took John Wesley Fain, 41, into custody on Friday, January 17, after officers arrived at a Benefield Road residence on a 911 call of a man pointing a gun at others.
Per the report, officers initially encountered a pair who told them that Fain was inside with the firearms along with another individual.
Fain was found inside unarmed, on the couch, with the guns stowed inside of a safe, per the other individual inside.
Before being taken into custody, Fain became “highly agitated and would not stop yelling at (the other individual).”
They took him into custody without further incident.
Police later recovered three handguns – two Taurus 9mm and one Smith and Wesson 9mm pistol – with one of the serial numbers filed off a Taurus 9mm.
PCPD charged Fain with felonies for aggravated assault included possession of a firearm by convicted felon or first offender, possession of firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, criminal use of an article with an altered ID mark (other than motor vehicle,) and aggravated assault.
Fain remained in custody on a $40,000 bond.
