
A man was arrested on Monday after he was accused of taking a grill from the American Legion Post 12 in Rockmart just before Independence Day, according to Polk County Police reports.
Officers arrested Howard Dennis Coker, 44, on Monday, July 8, after a warrant was taken out for misdemeanor theft by taking for his arrest.
PCPD took a report from the American Legion on July 3 about the missing gas grill, a three-burner Dyna-Glow valued at $300.
When the grill was taken between the night of July 2 and the morning of July 3, Coker was alleged to have left behind the gas tank that fueled it.
No information was immediately available in the report about how they were able to identify Coker as the suspect, but the American Legion did have security cameras pointing at the area during the time of the incident.
Coker remains in custody as of this posting on a $1,000 bond.
