Officials have now identified a Piedmont, Alabama driver who died as a result of injuries sustained in a wreck.
According to a report from the Georgia State Patrol this evening, Louis Euzebbe Parks, age 27 of Piedmont, was behind the wheel when it was believed the vehicle lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve on Judd Brazier Road in western Polk County.
The preliminary investigation shows that Parks’ Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck traveled off the west shoulder of the roadway, overturned and then struck a tree.
GSP was called in at 12:38 p.m. following the discovery of the truck earlier this afternoon.
Officials did not yet have an official timeline of events, but an investigation continues.

Local officials are on the scene of a single car wreck involving a fatality on Judd Brazier Road this afternoon.
Per Polk County Police Chief Kenny Dodd, the wreck was found by a passerby who happened to find the vehicle sometime around 1 p.m. this afternoon. Emergency personnel responded to the scene following the call into 911.
Once at the scene, officials discovered a body inside, and an investigation is underway. The car was believed to have wrecked well before the passerby found the vehicle, but police do not have an exact time frame yet.
Judd Brazier Road runs from Prior Station Road near the Alabama state line to Esom Hill-M C Beck Roads in western Polk County.
Police do believe it happened in recent hours or at the most days at this time.
Dodd said additional details will follow when available.
