A deaf man fought with officers and was tased during an investigation as to why he was being unruly when police were called out to a Fowler Road residence late Monday night.
Timmy Ray Frazier, 57, of the Fowler Road address in Rockmart, was jailed and later released on a $6,000 bond on February 22 after the late night incident on Monday.
When officers first arrived, they tried to use simple hand gestures to communicate with Frazier, who refused to cooperate and also wouldn’t write anything down.
At one point when officers tried to take him into custody in the home’s kitchen he looked like he would cooperate, officers reported, but then began to escape and then started to struggle with several officers trying to put cuffs on him.
One officers was shoved, warned Frazier that he would be tased if he didn’t cooperate, and then tried to break free when shoved against a wall. He was able to get free, and when lifted in the air by an officer he began to kick and punch both officers trying to gain control over him after being tased.
Police were forced to tase him a second time after he tried to get back up after being tackled, was tased a second time, and was finally was cuffed.
Officers did learn from a person on-scene that Frazier had become upset for some reason over the microwave, but then broke a toaster and began throwing her things in the “drenched yard.”
