Police called to Taylorsville home on report of man holding people at gunpoint, jailed on multiple charges

A local man remained in the Polk County Jail on multiple charges after reports he was holding at woman and a juvenile at gunpoint, according to police reports.

The Polk County Police reported their arrest of Brent Leon Stowe, 31, of a Cedartown address, who was jailed on felony and misdemeanor charges on Tuesday, April 6 around 5:50 p.m. after officers were called to the scene by 911 on a report of “a subject being held at gunpoint.”

Police attempted to locate the suspect upon their arrival not long after at 6:04 p.m. – later identified as Stowe – and two others believed to be in danger when they arrived.



Officers did not have a long narrative about what happened at the Taylorsville address, but did say that Stowe was arrested and taken into custody without further incident upon their arrival. Police did report the theft of a .22 caliber Cricket rifle during the incident.

He remained in the Polk County Jail with no bond set on felony charges of first degree burglary, possession of firearm or knife during commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, and two counts of aggravated assault.

Stowe also faces misdemeanor charges of simple battery and cruelty to children.
