For the first time in over half a decade, the Cedartown area can buy a Wendy’s hamburger again.
The new Wendy’s location wrapped up construction work in recent days, and with staff hired the restaurant opened their doors during the lunch hour today.
The former chain restaurant used to sit at the intersections of Philpot and Queen Streets and North Main Street. It is now the home of Popeye’s across from Northside Elementary School.
The previous location closed in 2014 and was finally demolised in 2019 to make way for Popeye’s.
Wendy’s is now located in the Walmart shopping center on Highway 27. It joins several restaurants already located within the area around the intersection of the bypass and North Main Street, including McDonald’s, Little Caesars and Papa John’s pizza, Zaxby’s, El Nopal, WNB Factory, Kizuna, and China One.
Construction on the restaurant began back in October, and wrapped up around near the end of January.
