
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Worthington Moore also known as “Betty” or “Maw Maw Moore” of Cedartown, Georgia, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025.
Mrs. Moore was born on January 19,1930, in Cedartown, daughter of the late Dee and Winnie Upchurch Worthington.
Mrs. Moore had an adventurous spirit and a love for traveling to new places. She never missed a Braves game and always enjoyed listening to Elvis. She was creative by nature and loved the challenge of DIY projects.
One of the ways she showed her love was through cooking, especially baking cakes, which she did with so much joy. But more than anything, she adored her family. They were truly the center of her life. She was a loving wife and mother, and her presence will be deeply missed.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore is preceded in death by her husband, James “Tunney” Moore, whom she married on Jan 29, 1949; brothers, Lester Barnwell and Hoyt Worthington; and her son in law, Benny Wayne Landrum.
Mrs. Moore is survived by her loving children: Margie Agan (Mackey), Lynn Wright (Johnny Matthews), David Moore ( Karen), Trelle Landrum, and Robyn Tillery (Jeff); grandchildren: Pejoe Agan (Rhonda), Mindy Agan (Phillip), Kelly McKelvey (Chris), Holly Moore, Matt Moore (Chevy), Blake Landrum (Katie), Lacee Landrum (Brett), Kaci Wray (Matthew), Owen Tillery, Megan Cates, and Josh Tillery; great grandchildren: Kristen Agan, Karlee Agan, McKenzie Wheeler, Colby Atkins, Chandler McKelvey, Campbell McKelvey, Everly Landrum, Raylan Landrum, Oakley Landrum, Holland Wray, Beau Cates, Jack Tillery, Buck Roberson, Coy Roberson, Braedyn Roberson. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services to honor her life will be held Friday, May 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Smith & Miller Funeral Home, with Reverend Danny Tucker officiating.
Interment will follow in Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Chandler McKelvey, Owen Tillery, Colby Atkins, Pejoe Agan, Blake Landrum, Josh Tillery, Matt Moore, Matthew Wray, and Braedyn Roberson.
Mrs. Moore’s family will receive friends Thursday evening May 15, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Smith & Miller Funeral Home.
