Man serving sentence at Polk County Jail now facing serious new charge

Aragon Police working in multi-jurisdiction investigation for child molestation

Jacob Charles Weiss

A man who was already behind bars earlier in the month serving a sentence on a suspended license charge is now facing more serious allegations against him as Aragon Police works with others outside the county, and more charges may be pending against him.

Bond hasn’t been set yet against Jacob Charles Weiss, 27, of a Scottsboro, Alabama address after he was alleged while a previous resident of Aragon to be involved in conduct that relates to an aggravated child molestation charge.

Due to the nature of the incident, Chief Julie Collins of the Aragon Police Department wasn’t able to provide further details on the specific incident that prompted the charge.

However, she was able to say that the investigation into the complaint made against Weiss was ongoing prior to him serving the sentence in the Polk County Jail that began on March 15, when he was booked for a 10-day stint in custody on a suspended license conviction.

The original complaint was made to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, who has forwarded the investigation onward to the Aragon Police. Collins said that investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are potentially pending.
