Keep Polk Beautiful’s Bring One for the Chipper program coming up on January 9

Want to do something useful with that Christmas tree as the holiday season is coming to an end? Keep it up just a bit longer, or store it somewhere in the yard that won’t be in the way and take it to a Keep Polk Beautiful event instead.

The KPB’s annual Bring One For The Chipper event is coming up on Saturday, January 9 at Camp Antioch from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Executive Director Randy Cook said that in trade for those bringing used Christmas trees that can be recycled in a variety of ways – especially as fish habitats in local ponds and lakes – will get a tree back.

KPB is giving away Dogwood and Oak seedlings in exchange for the popular live Christmas trees that would otherwise be processed as woodchips, or potentially end up in the landfill.

Find out more about the upcoming event or how to help Keep Polk Beautiful by getting in touch with Cook at 678-246-1083 or by e-mail at rcook@cedartowngeorgia.gov.
