Mr. Joel Glen Waters, age 61, of Rockmart, GA passed away suddenly Friday, May 9, 2025.

Joel was born in Rome, GA on November 22, 1963, a son of the late Glen L. Waters and the late Joyce McCown Waters.

Joel had lived all of his life in Rockmart and attended Victory Baptist Church. Joel was an avid University of Georgia Bulldog fan. He also loved the Atlanta Braves, and NASCAR pulling for Dale Earnhardt. Joel was a lover of the outdoors and enjoyed feeding the deer, turkey and birds around his house.

Joel was a family man who loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. His working career was with Georgia Power and recently retired after thirty-nine years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Vickie Waters.

Joel is survived by his loving wife, Kim Waters, to whom he married on September 3, 2004; five daughters, Anna Marie Flores, Dawn (Drew) Taylor, Lisa Cole, Rhiannon (Patrick) Andrews, and Jessie (Greg) Margelony; seven grandchildren, Tyler Hardy, Todd Cochran, Gracie Andrews, Caleb Andrews, Logon Margelony, Drake Taylor, and Timber Margelony; sister, Judith (Phil) McCutcheon; best friend and brother-in-law, Larry Cockrell; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Joel will be held Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 6:00 pm in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Barry Snapp officiating.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.

Honorary pallbearers will include his Georgia Power work friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Victory Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Waters.
