Mr. Jerry Wayne Stringer, age 78, of Rockmart, GA passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, May 14, 2025, surrounded by his immediate family and his church family.

Jerry was born in Rockmart on December 27, 1946, son of the late Floyd L. Stringer and Annie Lou Estes Stringer. He had lived all his life in Rockmart and was a graduate of Rockmart High School and Coosa Valley Technical College.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army where he did a tour in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart.

He was an aircraft inspector at Lockheed Martin and retired after thirty-eight years and has thoroughly enjoyed his retirement since 2008. He was a devoted member and deacon of Friendship Baptist Church, member of Rockmart Masonic Lodge #97 F&AM, William E. England Daylight Lodge, and was President of the West Georgia Masonic Memorial Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Buren and Wilma Gladden; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Neal and Karla Gladden.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Brenda Stringer; son Wade (Wendy) Stringer; grandchildren, Katie and Alex; and great-grandchildren, Lilyana and Nolan.

Funeral services for Mr. Stringer will be held Monday, May 19, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Friendship Baptist Church of Paulding County with Rev. Keith Clark and Rev. Merle Baron officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Brown-Wright Post #12 Honor Guard in charge of military graveside rites and masonic graveside rites provided by the West Georgia Masonic Memorial Club.

Pallbearers will include J.C. Thomas, Marty Meeks, Dennis Childers, Roy Holmes, Jerry Turner, Murl Turner, and Rev. Jason Stringer.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 11:30 am until 1:30 pm at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home.
