UPDATE:

The Polk County Coroner’s Office confirmed this morning the death of one of the individuals involved in a one-vehicle wreck on Prior Station Road near Dry Creek Road on Saturday evening.

According to the Coroner’s Office, a 26-year-old female died of her injuries while being treated at Kennestone Hospital after being airlifted from Polk County.

No immediate information was available about the other individual involved in the Saturday evening wreck.

Georgia State Patrol has charge of the investigation, and additional details are set to follow when available from the agency.

Two people were airlifted to an area hospital this evening following a one-vehicle wreck in the Prior Station area.

Police and first responders were called out around 6:45 p.m. to Prior Station Road near Dry Creek Road for a one-vehicle wreck.

A Lifeflight helicopter was called into recover the driver and passenger in the vehicle, whose injuries required the airlift from New Harmony Baptist Church shortly after 7:10 p.m.

The extent of those injuries weren’t immediately available, per Polk County Police officials.

Georgia State Patrol was called into investigate the wreck.
