Mr. Hoyt Vernon Jones, age 93, of Cedartown, GA, passed away Saturday October 5, 2024. 

Mr. Jones was born November 2, 1930 to the late William Chesley Jones and the late Tidy Mae Rudeseal Jones.

Mr. Jones was a proud Army Veteran and loved WW movies military history–especially Civil War history. He was actively involved in the Sons of Confederacy and performed many Reenactments over the years.

Mr. Jones also loved his career as a driver for C&A Freight Lines–which later became Humbolt–where he happily retired.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Loveless Jones; son, Michael Jones; grandson, Zach Jones; brothers, Bob Jones, Chesley Jones, J.C. Jones, and Styles Wood; and sisters, Rena May and Colleen.

Mr. Jones is survived by his sons, Ray Jones (Mahalah) and Ronny Jones (Mary); 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. Jones will be conducted Wednesday October 9, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Danny Tucker and Trey Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Wednesday October 9 from 12:00 PM until the service hour at 1:00 PM at Litesey Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as Pallbearers: Ronny Jones, Donald Welchel, Jimmy Jones, Keith Jones, Paul Jones, and Bill Jones. Timmy Jones and Gage Eaves will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Mr. Jones’s honor.
