Halloween fun was had by all in Rockmart late Saturday afternoon as departments within the city gathered for the second annual drive-thru Trunk or Treat held during the weekend.
Kids dressed up in all kinds of costumes got to stay out of wet weather and remain in the backseat as they drove through and collected goodies from Mayor Sherman Ross, city administration, public works, the fire department and more during the two-hour event.
Cars lined up throughout the park to get to participate as hundreds came through before night’s end.
It is the latest celebration of a holiday in Rockmart, with more to come as the city hosts the annual Christmas Parade on December 2. Applications to enter a float are due by November 20.
The Rotary Club of Polk County is also hosting the first-ever Silver Comet Festival in downtown Rockmart coming up on November 27, with many events being held on the day including a 5K race, the Rotary Duck Race, and more! Vendor applications are being accepted now, check out more details later in the week for times and details about how to enter the races.
