Mr. Edgar Thomas Tant, age 78, of Lindale, GA, passed away Thursday morning, May 1, 2025.

Mr. Tant was born in Rockmart, GA, on June 1, 1946, the son of the late Alvin Thomas Tant and Millie Inez Williams Tant.

He had lived all his life in Polk County and was a member of Calvary Assembly of God where he was a devoted Christian and an ordained minister.

Mr. Tant retired from Lockheed-Martin in Marietta after 35 years where he was an inspector. He enjoyed woodworking, poetry, ancestry, was an avid fan of wrestling, loved to travel and enjoyed camping with his family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Tant was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Denise Tant, and sisters, Margie Hammonds and Linda Eaves.

Mr. Tant is survived by his wife, Charlotte Anderson Tant, whom he married July 20, 1966; three children, Scott (Jamie) Tant, Felicia (Judson) Alexander, and Sabrina (Dana) Teems; sisters, Shirley Mullinax and Robbie Streetman; brother, Richard Tant. Fourteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Tant will be held on Sunday afternoon, May 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Dr. Jerry Buttram officiating. Sabrina Teems will offer poems and a grandson will offer remarks. Interment will follow in Rockmart Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Tant’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Saturday evening, May 3, 2025, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

Pallbearers will include Jordan Tant, Zach Teems, Cal Teems, Chance Tant, and Jon Tant. Honorary pallbearers will include Peter Tant, Charley Tant, Chapman Tant, and Jaxon Teems.
