The Polk County Sheriff’s Office over the weekend invited folks who were looking for a bargain to come save some dough at a Yard Sale, and help out families for the holidays all in one go.

People were waiting when Sheriff’s Office volunteers arrived on Saturday morning to grab early deals on donations made to the PCSO for the Yard Sale benefitting the Toys Express program.

The program receives plenty of toys and other gift help annually, but does need cash help from time to time to help with the cost of additional gifts and clothes to give out for Christmas. A deputy came up with the idea as a fundraiser to help provide some of that monetary help ahead of the holidays.

Donations that were not sold during the Yard Sale on Saturday are being turned over to the Our House Thrift Store and the Women’s Shelter to either be re-used for donations to those in need, or to be sold to help fund shelter operations.

The sale wrapped up on Saturday afternoon.
