Dozens of customers still remain without power today in Polk County, mainly in rural areas in the south and east side following severe weather on Friday.
Just south of Antioch, 67 customers remain without power today as crews continue work to establish connections less than 24 hours after the storms passed through. An area around Rockmart High School (not the school itself) is impacting more than 2o customers, and others west of Aragon on North Bellview Road are impacting 40 customers.
Areas around Chubbtown, Esom Hill, Felton, and Morgan Valley Road are also experiencing outages still.
Just over 160 customers in total are without power so far today, a significant drop from the hundreds who lost power on Friday afternoon.
No major damage was reported from the weather otherwise.
A warming in the forecast is set to return following a cool and windy day today, and a chill overnight. Sunday’s forecast calls for sunshine and a high of 72, with a jump to 78 on Monday, and a high of 75 on Tuesday. More rain is called for on Wednesday and temperatures will dip back down to the mid-60s as a high, and down to the 40s overnight.
