A repair on Prior Street is underway in Cedartown by the railroad, arriving earlier than expected.

Per the City of Cedartown, they were only made aware this morning of the requirement to fix the Prior Street crossing today. Traffic will detour around the crossing, but shouldn’t impact major traffic flow on West Avenue.

That the West Avenue crossing repair was expected to come on Wednesday, per reports from City Manager Edward Guzman last Monday during the City Commission meeting. That has now been pushed back, and the West Avenue closure is now tentatively coming next week.

The crossing over Prior Street will be closed for at least two days for the repair and reopen upon completion.
