The threat of icy conditions in the morning due to wet weather combined with a dramatic drop in overnight temperatures has another municipal office deciding to delay opening for non-essential personnel in the morning.
Rockmart city offices will delay opening their doors until 10 a.m. on Tuesday morning as the weather forecast calls for the threat of black ice to form as storms push through Polk County, followed by temperatures dropping down to 20 degrees by early morning.
Non-essential personnel will not be required to report until 10 a.m.
Polk County offices – including the courts – and the Health Department are also delayed opening on Tuesday morning as well.
The City of Cedartown has not yet made a decision.
Check back for further updates as they become available.
