Cedartown Library’s back to book work on March 17

You’ve read that headline right, bookworms. Fortune favors those who are patient, and the Cedartown Library’s remodeling project is finally complete and ready for patrons to return.

The Cedartown branch of the Sara Hightower Regional Library System is set to reopen on Monday evening, March 17 at 5 p.m. as the city invites the community to come out and celebrate the grand reopening of the space that has been transformed over the past months into a space that current and future patrons will love.

City Manager Edward Guzman said during his manager’s report the long awaited remodel of the space is now complete and ready to show off to the public.

“It’s going to be a sight to see when we unveil it next week,” he said.

The library remodel saw a complete overhaul of interior spaces, ranging from a updated staff area and offices to a new meeting room that can be locked off from the rest of the library for events to utilize the space after the branch is closed for the day.

A new children’s area, a teen area, new individual study/work rooms, shelving, front desk and much more.

The ribbon cutting is happening at 5, and the public will get to enjoy tours of the newly refurbished space following the opening ceremonies of the event.

Check back for additional details about the grand reopening event as soon as they are available.
