UPDATE: Shooting reported on Vines Street in Cedartown

Additional details about tonight’s shooting on Vine Street have now been made available by the City of Cedartown in a press release this evening. It reads as follows:

Cedartown Police are investigating a shooting incident at a Vine Street address that left one person injured.

According to Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome, officers were called to the scene around 8 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a male subject had been shot.

“This was a dispute that took place between the Vine Street resident and another individual that came to the home,” said Newsome.

The individual that allegedly fired the weapon has been located and the individual that was shot was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment.

Cedartown Police have called in the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to assist.

Additional details will be released as the investigation continues.

Police, ambulance and firefighters have been called out to the scene of a Vines Street shooting, according to reports from local police officials.

According to those officials, a potential suspect who was shot is in serious condition and is being taken to the hospital for further treatment. Names of those involved have not yet been reported as the situation remains under investigation at the moment, with Cedartown Police investigators being called to the scene.
