Nick Chubb Roundup: Calf injury sidelines Browns RB for second game in a row
Bad news for Nick Chubb fans.
Last week, the Cleveland Browns star running back from right here in Cedartown, Georgia found himself sidelined after he sustained a calf injury and wasn’t able to play against the Arizona Cardinals. Now he’ll be out for the Thursday Night Football game against the Denver Broncos too.
Reports came out Tuesday that Chubb will be ruled out and sidelined with no timetable of when he’ll return for the upcoming game.
He’s on the injured list alongside Kareem Hunt, who also sustained injuries when he was knocked out of the Arizona game this past Sunday.
Both superstar running backs are – even with the loss of two games – still are able to put up 1,000-yard seasons.
Chubb took an injury during the Cleveland loss to the Chargers.
This is only his second time being on the injured list since he was drafted onto the Browns. He sat out short-term after a knee sprain last October. While playing at Georgia, he missed half a season after a major injury while playing against Tennessee.
As of this posting, Chubb sits at 523 yards off of 90 carries on the season, averaging 5.8 yards in the first five games of the season.
Cleveland does get a break and an opportunity to let the team heal after this coming Thursday game hosting the Broncos (sitting at 3-3 on the year, the same as the Browns) before they host the Steelers on October 31.
Check back in next week’s roundup for an update on Chubb’s status going into the Pittsburgh game.
