
William “Bill” Michael Hardy, age 56, of Tallapoosa, Georgia, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025, at a local healthcare facility. Born on October 11, 1968, Bill was the beloved son of Ollie Osburn Hardy and the late William Stanley Hardy, Jr.
Bill was a man of deep service and heart. He devoted his life to EMS, answering calls for help with compassion, skill, and dedication. His commitment to others extended beyond his career—he proudly served his community through Oostanaula Masonic Lodge #111, the Shriners, and as a joyful member of the Red Devils Clown Group.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Tammy Gillespie Hardy; his sister, Sara Williams; brother, Phillip Hardy; sister-in-law’s, Bettie Stokes, Kathy Simpson, and Helen Thomas; brother-in-law’s, Walter Gillespie, Wayne Thomas, and Jim Simpson; and many nieces and nephews who adored him.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, William Stanley Hardy, Jr.; baby brother, Kevin Lynn Hardy; grandparents, William Stanley Hardy, Sr. and Ruby Hardy, and Artis Lee and Delores Osburn; and mother-in-law, Emily Shurum.
Bill’s personality was larger than life—filled with laughter, kindness, and unwavering loyalty. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from the Chapel of Hightower Funeral Home, with Rev. Barry Taylor officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. that same day.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Bill’s honor to the Masonic Home for Children.
