Mrs. Janie Mae Barkley Robinson, age 81, of Wedowee, AL, formerly of Tallapoosa, passed away April 1, 2025.

She was born October 31, 1943 in Chatsworth, GA to the late John Eldridge and Ellie Breeden Barkley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Robinson; sisters, Maggie Shell, Zettie Wester, and Ann Jacobs; and brothers, Johnny Barkley, Frank Barkley, Keith Barkley, and Gus Barkley.

Janie worked as a personal assistant for many years, serving at local companies, including, Tanner Healthcare, Arrow Shirt Company, Monsanto, and her son’s company, Hat D Transport.

She loved to dance and sing and work with flowers and plants. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Janie is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Bill and LeAnne Johnston, of Tallapoosa, Ga, Matthew and Kristy Robinson, and Sam and Jessica Robinson, all of Wedowee, AL; grandchildren and their spouses, Dylan Johnson (Cory), Delara Angle (Anthony), David Johnston, Kaylee Robinson, Gracie Robinson, Mattie Robinson, Michael Robinson, Damion bergland, Daisy Robinson, and James Robinson; six great grandchildren; sister and brothers in law, Sara and Lamar Templeton, of Leesburg, AL and Jack Jacobs, of Rome, GA; brothers and sisters in law, Joe Barkley, of Albertville, AL, Jim and Dorene Barkley, of Lineville, AL, Robert and Sandra Barkley, of FL, Morris and Lynn Barkley, of S.C., Sue Barkley, of Ider, AL, Barbara Barkley, and Ruby Barkley, both of Tallapoosa; as well as a host of nieces and nephews

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 2:00PM EST at Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Josh Barkley officiating. Music will be provided by Providence Minister of Music, Jake Pitts. Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be David Johnston, Anthony Angle, Michael Robinson, Ken Barkley, Brian Barkley, and John Barkley. Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

Her family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00PM EST.
