HCSO: Suspect on stolen four-wheeler nabbed by deputy on patrol

A sharp-eyed deputy spotted a stolen four-wheeler in Haralson County this afternoon, and a homeless man was arrested for its theft per a posting in their Facebook page.

Stacy Burkhart, 44, wasn’t listed in the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office inmate listings just yet, but officials posted that he would be facing multiple charges including a felony for theft by receiving stolen property.

On Thursday, April 14, 2022, Deputies took a report for a stolen four wheeler. A few hours later, Deputy Robin Hood was on patrol and observed a green four wheeler matching the description of the stolen four wheeler with a white male traveling down the roadway towards her. Deputy Hood turned around on the four wheeler and it started to accelerate. Deputy Hood caught up to the four wheeler and initiated her blue lights, the four wheeler stopped on the side of the road. The driver of the four wheeler was searched upon arrest and the ignition that had been punched was in his pocket.

Stacy Burkhart, a 44 year old homeless man, has been charged with Theft by Receiving Stolen Property (felony) and other charges. The four wheeler will be returned to the owner.
