On Wednesday, October 6, 2021 the Georgia Department of Revenue Alcohol and Tobacco Division in conjunction with the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office conducted an Underage Alcohol Operation in Haralson County Georgia.

The purpose of this operation was to conduct underage compliance checks at various businesses throughout the county.

During these checks, an underage operative and undercover Special Agent enter a business and attempt to purchase an alcoholic beverage. The entire operation consisted of 25 locations in Bremen, Buchanan, and Tallapoosa.

Out of the 25 locations, four businesses sold an alcoholic beverage to the underage operative, those businesses were Terry’s Stop, Corinth Quick Stop, Nick’s (Sisters) Superette and Tallapoosa Quick Stop.

For each of the sale locations, the clerk who completed the transaction was issued a uniform traffic citation for underage alcohol sales by the Haralson County Sheriff’s Office and the business was issued a state administrative citation, which can reflect against the business’ alcohol license.

“These partnerships with state agencies continue to benefit the citizens of Haralson County. The importance of these checks is twofold, it makes sure that businesses here are following the law and it keeps our children from illegally buying alcohol that could lead to dangerous consequences,”, states sheriff Stacy Williams.
