CHANGELOG: Myrick Multimedia 2.0.8

A Changelog I am very happy to report: I have now figured out the problem with the ad server, and it is now up and running!

Well, with a bug: placements I previously had for “Universal Desktop Ads” and “All Ads Mobile” for some reason decided to stop working for some strange reason. It is something I’ve worked on through much of Monday, but couldn’t get to fully cooperate before I just threw up my hands, deleted the code, and moved onto writing again. (I think I’m at a point where my brain can’t take going back and forth with ChatGPT on coding issues for the moment.) I’ll come back to those two placements before we move onto the full 2.1 update, but for now they’ll not be included in postings across the network until I figure out the cause of the bug.

This update also required a child theme to be created called “Today Network” that is for internal use only. It will not be included in any WordPress-related features I’ll be providing through Myrick Multimedia free to the public. Those include the Network Posts, GD Listings and GD Events code snippets I provided previously.

So this 2.0.8 update to the site remains a Beta version as I’ve had to update a goodly chunk of the blocks used to form the site that I’ve halfway rebuilt a bunch of the site in an afternoon.

The 2.0.8 update only includes the major update of the ad server being switched over, with minor updates to the store (making sure that day, week and month pricing options are working correctly) and links now open in a new window when ads are clicked on by a user.

For businesses that are advertisers on the site: individual stats from each site will be collected and put into a collected set of stats for future reference.

Additional minor update required: consolidating the SevenUp!, Sudoku and Word Search games onto the Myrick Multimedia site. They’ll still be available on the local news pages for those who have bookmarked them for future play; removing some boxes that need updating from sidebars and below mobile posts;
