BASEBALL: Jackets host inaugural “Meet the Jackets” First Pitch Dinner, hosting White Tee World Series starting on Friday

The season is about to heat up for the Rockmart Yellow Jackets as they prepare for their upcoming three-game White Tee World Series on Friday and Saturday, along with the start of the season – if the weather cooperates.

Friday evening is the scheduled start to the three-game event to help ensure the team has plenty of items they’ll need during the season, with parents pay admission with donations.

The opener is set for 5 p.m. on February 4 – if the fields are dry enough to play – followed by Saturday games on Feb. 5 scheduled for 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. if conditions allow for play.

See the Rockmart High Facebook page to learn more about what parents are being asked to bring to watch the games. Make sure to follow the page for updates on whether those games will take place this weekend as the weather conditions improve or degrade.

In the meantime, Jacket Nation supporters got the opportunity to meet the team at a inaugural “Meet the Jackets” First Pitch Dinner on Tuesday, February 1 at In the Woods.

The fundraiser for the team included a Silent Auction and guest speaker Bob Culver.
