One-loss Bulldogs remain perfect in 7-AAAA, head into final week of season against Heritage-Catoosa
The Cedartown Bulldogs look to remain on top of the dawg-pile in 7-AAAA play after taking a 34-7 victory on Friday over the Central Carroll Lions, now at 4-0 in region play and heading into the final game of the region and regular season looking to make it 5-0 for the year and take a second title in a row.
Bulldog Harlem Diamond put up another three-touchdown performance (his third time in a row doing this…) and had 195 yards rushing and 13 yards passing on the night as the top performer on offense for the Bulldogs.
CJ Washington – who had been sidelined due to injuries for the past few games – got back in and put up 64 yards on the ngiht. Xavier Hargrove also scored a touchdown with 25 yards on six carries on the night as well.
Bulldogs QB Reece Tanner hit is stride again with 4 of 9 in passing attempts, putting up 110 yards against the Lions and a touchdown in the air that connected with Jordan Johnson.
With the win, the Bulldogs move to 7-1 on the year and host Heritage-Catoosa for Senior night on Doc Ayers Field this Friday, November 5.
Cedartown’s facing a Heritage-Catoosa Generals team who are 6-0 and 3-1 in region play. They sit at third place in the region and are coming off of a 24-14 win over the Pickens Dragons.
The Bulldogs remain at the top of the region standings, followed by Northwest Whitfield in second place, Heritage in third, and Central in fourth at 1-3. Pickens sits in fifth at 1-3 as well, with Ridgeland in fourth at 0-4 on the year.
