The Rockmart Yellow Jackets continue to roll right through their region schedule, adding another win to the season and going five in a row now without looking back since the rocky start to the season.

The drive up to Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe is one of the longest trips in the region, but the Jackets didn’t seem to mind when they took a 56-0 victory on Friday night over the Warriors.

They opened against the 0-6 Warriors with a Deidric Gibson interception, and then JD Davis and Jakari Clark connected for a 66-yard touchdown to put them up 7-0, then didn’t look back from there. They added another touchdown in the first, then put up six more throughout the rest of the game before a running clock put LFO out of contention.

The eight touchdown victory was the latest in a line of big games for the Jackets, looking to make it through Region 6-AAA with another region title and hosting the first round of the playoffs. They head to Murray County to face the Indians in the next region matchup, then host Adairsville before a trip to LaFayette at month’s end, then round out the season against Ringgold to cap off the year.

Rockmart still sits at the top of the region with Ringgold in the 6-AAA standings.
