SOFTBALL: Lady Bulldogs game against Ridgeland to round out series postponed until Sept. 22

The week is over for the Cedartown Lady Bulldogs as the schedule has once again been interrupted by the weather.

Earlier this morning, the Lady Bulldogs posted on social media that today’s final homestand against Ridgeland to round out the series had to be postponed because of the rain.

The 10-12 Lady Bulldogs (4-7 7-AAAA) picked back up some wins in recent days after taking a four-game skid against Pickens to round out that region series, and were swept by Heritage-Catoosa last week in three games.

Over the weekend, Cedartown went 2-1 in tournament play, gaining a needed win to break their skid over Lakview-Fort Oglethorpe, but then dropped a Saturday morning outing against South Paulding before bouncing back with a win over Collins Hill.

Cedartown’s latest run-through region play earlier in the week saw the Lady Bulldogs with a trip to Ridgeland in 10-9 and 20-7 wins over the Lady Panthers in the first two of three games in the series.

The Lady Bulldogs were set to round out the series today at home against the Lady Panthers, but that game has been pushed back to September 22 due to the wet weather that moved into the area on Wednesday and has stuck around for today and is expected again on Friday.

After Ridgeland, Cedartown still has Southeast Whitfield and Northwest Whitfield to round out region play. A game with Oconee County is planned for Saturday, Sept. 25 in a non-region contest as well.

Cedartown sits at fifth place in Region 7-AAAA as Central, Heritage, Northwest Whitfield, and Pickens take up the top four spots to get into the playoffs at the moment.
