In Loving Memory of Ronald “Doc” Carter

Ronald Gus Carter of Cedartown, known to many as “Doc,” passed away on May 8, 2025, at the age of 51, surrounded by his loving family.

Doc was born September 24, 1973, to the late Marion Carter and the late Linda Timms Carter.

Doc was a devoted husband to Stacy Carter for over 34 years. He was a loving father to Caleb Carter (Kyle) and Pamela Carter Shelton (Blake), a father figure to “his boys” Wade Fincher and Jeremy Fincher, and a proud Papa to Vincent Shelton (“Dude”), Jace Shelton (“JR”), Kendall Fincher, and Noah Fincher.

He was best known for his love of playing pool. If he wasn’t home spending time with his family, you could count on finding him with his pool team.

Doc is also survived by his sister, Shabre “Diane” Carter of Ellijay, GA.

He is now reunited in Heaven with his parents, his twin brother Donald Carter, and one of “his boys,” Jeremy Fincher, who were waiting at the gates to welcome him home.

Funeral services for Doc will be conducted Saturday May 10 at 3:00 PM in the Chapel of the Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home with Rev. John Redding officiating. The family will receive friends at Litesey Funeral Home prior to the service from 12:00 noon until the service hour at 3:00 PM. In keeping with his wishes, Doc will be cremated following the service.
