
Mr. John Thomas “Tommy” Burnette, age 63, of Buchanan, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at a local healthcare facility.
Born on December 20, 1961, in Marietta, Georgia, he was the beloved son of the late Harold Dean and Betty Ann Burnette.
Tommy was a hardworking man with a big heart, best known for his dedication to his family and his community. For over 30 years, he proudly owned and operated A&A Sanitation, serving others.
A true outdoorsman, Tommy cherished time spent in nature. He loved hunting and fishing and found joy in sharing those moments with his friends and family.
Whether it was a quiet morning on the lake or an afternoon in the woods, he felt most at peace outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tim Burnette; and his sister, Missie Burnette.
Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Reedie Burnette; sons, Kevin Self, Kale Self (Ashley), and Tim Burnette (Brittany); sisters, Becky Soufastai, Debbie Stewart, and Melinda Burnette; grandchildren, Cody Gregg (Ashlyn), Avery Self (Macy), Mason Self (Addison), Anna Self, Sara Ann Self, John Self, Matthew Self, Megan Self, Tyler Burnette, and Brylee Burnette; and six great-grandchildren.
Tommy will be remembered for his warmth, his laughter, and his deep love for those around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
