Woman, child found safe following Amber Alert after pair wanted $1 million in kidnapping scheme

GARNER, N.C. — Police in North Carolina arrested two suspects took a woman and her child from their home after the husband refused to pay them $1 million on Tuesday.

North Carolina’s Bureau of Investigation noted the mother and child were found safe on Tuesday morning following an Amber Alert being issued after their abduction.

According to reports from some news agencies, a pair were charged by the Garner Police Department in North Carolina with first and second degree kidnapping charges. Those were Paola Duran Duran, 25, and Miguel Angel Duran Duran, 23.

They were being held in the Wake County Detention Center following their arrest on Tuesday morning.

A third suspect was alleged to have been involved in the kidnapping that occurred around 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning, April 29.
