Celebrating CVAF’s 60th

There were lots of reasons to celebrate this weekend. Whether it was the first anniversary of the opening of the new playground at Peek Park, or the winners of this year’s morning race to open the event of the season in Cedartown, the one that topped them all was this year’s big number for the Cedar Valley Arts Festival.

60.

That’s how many times that local residents have gone through parks to find handmade arts and crafts, good food, fun entertainment and something for the kids to do on the final weekend of April. Rain or shine, year after year. Well, except those COVID years. Let’s just not focus on that for a moment.

The annual event put on by the Cedartown Junior Service League provides the organization a fundraising opportunity through sponsorships and charging vendors fees for setting up in Peek Park for the weekend. They provide space to showcase student art, an opportunity for youth and their elders alike to shine on the stage during two days of entertainment opportunities, the Saturday car show and the Sunday dog show.

Anyone who said bah-humbug over the weekend at Peek Park wasn’t trying hard enough to have fun.

Check out the collection of galleries from this year’s event for subscribers along with a few select photos that were some of our favorites from this year’s collections. Here’s Day 1 photos, and Day 2 photos.
