Optimist Club fundraiser helps club contribute back to community, youth
Just like waking up on a weekend morning to the smell of breakfast, there’s nothing like the annual tradition being served up this Saturday morning by the Cedartown Optimist Club.
The annual Ham & Egg Day breakfast fundraiser is coming up this Saturday, April 26, providing folks the chance to get together for the weekend morning meal or take home a box or several more for family members to help good causes around the community.
Club members will start serving at 7 a.m. on Saturday and continues through until 11 a.m., offering up their traditional fare of scrambled eggs, ham, grits, biscuits, gravy and a drink. Plates are available for carry out for those who don’t wish to stick around at the Civic Center.
Tickets can still be purchased ahead of time for $10 at Perfect Fit Alterations , Michelle Ruper State Farm Insurance, Rudy Woods Appliance or from any Optimist club members.
Recently, some of those who benefit from ticket sales made from the Ham & Egg Day breakfast and sponsors last year received donations ahead of this year’s breakfast throughout the past weeks during their weekly morning breakfasts.
Among the organizations who get help each year from the Ham & Egg Day fundraiser are organizations like Trail Life USA, who provide a scouting-style experience for boys that is church-based and Christ-centered in their approach. Local Troop 2678 meets at Second Baptist Church.
Donations are provided to other organizations from the proceeds generated from breakfast and sponsors who help make it possible every year.
