Mr. Jerry G. Gilbert, age 77, of Tallapoosa passed away on April 5, 2025. He was born April 22, 1947 in Carrollton, GA to the late Garthel “Dick” and Beatrice Maples Gilbert. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolly Sanders Gilbert and his brother, Clarence Gilbert.
Jerry graduated with the Tallapoosa High School Class of 1965. He loved music, painting, and was naturally a very creative person. He was eager to be given a challenge and try to fix something no one else could.
He loved to make people laugh and to hang out at the lake with his family. He looked forward to each morning spent drinking coffee with his Jack’s crew. He loved his wife and family dearly and his grandchildren were his greatest joy.
Jerry is survived by his loving children and their spouses, Renae and Billy Reynolds, of Bremen, GA and Stacy and Nikki Gilbert, of Muscadine, AL; grandchildren, Trey Gilbert, Mylee Gilbert, Jacob (Savannah) Reynolds, and Kelsey (Laura) Strickland; great-grandchildren, Sara and Nate; and brother and sister in law, Ronald and Vicky Gilbert, of Carrollton.
Memorial services for Mr. Jerry Gilbert will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 4:00 PM from Miller Funeral Home Dogwood Chapel with Stacy Gilbert speaking. His family will receive friends, Mon., April 14th, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.
