REPORT: Scooter stopped for traffic violation ends with drug arrest

A man who was driving his scooter on the wrong side of the roadway was found “steaming” by officers, and ultimately had drugs and a firearm on his person according to Polk County Police reports.

Zachary Stephen Andrew Blair, 30, of an Aragon address, was pulled over early on Tuesday morning, March 25 when he was spotted driving his scooter on the wrong side of the road at Prospect Road at New Prospect Road. Officers stopped Blair at the intersection with Lowery Road and began to question him.

Police found Blair on the scooter with temperatures below 40 degrees out “to be sweating profusely and steam coming off from his clothes.”

Blair allowed a search of his belongings and was found in possession of suspected methamphetamine, a pill bottle he was using as a pipe, and a Titan .25 caliber firearm inside his jacket.

Polk County Police took him into custody without further incident. They took his scooter back home for him before being taken onward to the Polk County Jail.

Blair was charged with felonies for possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, along with misdemeanors for possession and use of drug-related objects and driving on wrong side of the roadway.
