Y’all get out the fishing poles and tackle boxes for when Village Mill Pond gets encircled later this spring for the 2025 edition of Aragon Children’s Day.
The annual event – put on in conjunction with the City of Aragon and the Davitte Lodge #513 F&AM and other community partners – provides youth with a chance to win prizes, catch fish and enjoy a day in the sunshine with a variety of field games and family-friendly fun.
Mark the calendar for Saturday, May 31, 2025 for this year’s event. Time and other details will follow.
As in years past at the event, fishing for the day is limited to just youth 16 and under.
Officials during their most recent City Council meeting put up a request to order the fish for this year’s event – more than 450 pounds of live catfish – at a cost of $1,782.50 for delivery to ensure there are plenty to get on the hook for the upcoming event.
Davis Fish Farms are providing the live fish for this year’s event.
