A Cedartown-area man admitted to breaking a window after beating it so hard trying to get inside of a residence on Tuesday morning, but denied any other damage that may have been done after he left without getting in, according to Polk County Police reports.
Officers charged Charles Randall Dingler, 49, of a Cedartown-area address on Tuesday, March 25 on a single charge of criminal trespass. He was later released from the Polk County Jail on a $1,000 bond.
Per the report filed by police, the victim in the case told officers that Dingler came over demanding entry, and when it was denied went around the back of the home and began banging on a window.
He was banging the window so hard he broke it, according to the report. Still denied entry, Dingler was alleged to have then walked around to a carport and keyed the victim’s car before fleeing in his own vehicle.
Police took photos of the damage, then went to Dingler’s home to talk to him about what happened.
Though he admitted to breaking the window, he denied keying the car. When being taken into custody, police found a piece of glass in the hood of his sweatshirt.
He went onward to jail without any further incident, and was released the same day.
