Carol Pilgrim

Mrs. Carol Drummond Pilgrim

Mrs. Carol Drummond Pilgrim, age 75, of Cedartown, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025.

Born in Cedartown, Georgia, on April 3, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Drummond and Virginia Lindsey Drummond.

Carol was known for her kindness and gentle spirit. She found joy in simple things like spending time outdoors, tending to her flowers and garden, and listening to the birds. Golf was one of her favorite pastimes and she loved listening to Gospel music.

Many remember Carol from her time as co-owner of Pilgrim’s Kitchens, Floors, and More in Cedartown, where she was a trusted guide for customers making purchasing decisions.

Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she was an active member of Second Baptist Church in Cedartown. For years, Carol faithfully taught the ladies’ Sunday School class, guiding the members closer to God through her thoughtful studies and compassionate leadership.

She lived out Christian service every day, always doing good for others without seeking recognition. The members of Celebrate Recovery especially looked forward to the homemade desserts she lovingly prepared. Like her own mother, Mrs. Pilgrim expressed her love for family and friends through cooking, sharing meals as a way to show her care.

Carol’s children and grandchildren were the true joy of her life. She cherished every moment with them and always made sure they knew how much they were loved. First called “Grammy,” she later embraced the name “Gaga” as well, each a reflection of her grandchildren’s admiration of her. Carol was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister—her legacy of faith, humility, and encouragement will live on in the hearts of her family for years to come.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Mr. William “Bill” Robert Pilgrim; children, Christy Barrow and her husband, David, and Rob Pilgrim and his wife, Michele; dearly loved grandchildren, Walker Barrow, Zane Barrow, Eli Barrow, Maryn Barrow, Jake Pilgrim, and Alexa Pilgrim; siblings, Charles Drummond and his wife, Lawanna, Glenda Evans and her husband, Jay, Joyce Saunders and her husband, Mike, and Diane Dyer; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Services to celebrate her life will be held Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 4:00 PM, at Second Baptist Church in Cedartown, with Reverend Dr. Charles Drummond and Reverend Justin Carter officiating.

Her grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Carol’s family will receive friends, also on Sunday at Second Baptist Church, from 2:00 PM until the service hour begins.

The Smith & Miller Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Carol Drummond Pilgrim.
