Drivers commuting on Highway 278 eastbound will have to find another route around a four-vehicle wreck near Atrium Health Floyd Polk Medical Center, according to Cedartown Police.
After the first incident occurred following a school bus stopping to let children on, traffic backup caused a second fender bender to occur as well.
Cedartown Police Chief Jamie Newsome said that the first wreck was caused by the school bus stopping and a vehicle behind it coming to a stop, but not before another vehicle rear ended the first to stop, and a chain reaction involving two more occurred.
Newsome said three individuals received minor injuries during the incident.
The bus was not struck during the incident.
Amid trying to control traffic on Hwy. 278 following the four-car pileup, another fender bender occurred between two more vehicles. Newsome did not report any injuries in that incident.
