Generator went missing after suspect fled, Cops catch up with him on Sunday

A Cedartown-area man fled when he was accused of taking a piece of equipment from a neighboring home back in November, and officers finally caught up with him to serve him with a misdemeanor theft warrant.
Christopher Dennis Vines, 38, of a Cedartown-area address, was booked on Sunday, January 5, 2025 following his arrest in the early morning hours on a misdemeanor theft by taking charge. He was later released on a $1,000 bond following a three-day stay in the Polk County Jail.
Per the report, Vines was accused by a neighbor of stealing a generator from their property and when confronted, first said they would pay them for the missing equipment. Then when police were called to make a complaint and file charges, Vines fled.
When officers arrived they spoke with others at Vines’ residence who witnessed what happened and confirmed the story told by the generator’s owner. Officers searched the property but didn’t find the generator at the time on November 14 when police initially responded to the incident.
There was no further information on how officers located Vines and took him into custody over the weekend.
