Happy New Year 2025, Polk County!
Breaking a bit of a pattern over the past few starts to the year, the area is expecting sunshine instead of rain but temperatures are set to start getting back toward what everyone considers “winter” conditions in the coming days.
After a final mild (but gusty) day to close out 2024, sunny skies and a high of 51 is in the forecast for the day per the National Weather Service meteorologists in Peachtree City. Temps are supposed to drop down into the 20s overnight around the area as skies remain clear, and frigid air from the arctic north begin to head down this way.

Sunshine and cooler temps are expected through the rest of the first days of the year heading into the weekend, with highs just up to 50 on Thursday and Friday and down into the 20s overnight for both days. Turning to Saturday, a high in the mid 40s begins a further cooling trend and potential for rain is right around the corner as well.
Does that mean snow flurries are possible in Polk on Sunday night? Right now, Peachtree City forecasts say rain and temps down into the mid 30s overnight with wet weather expected after midnight. Could that forecast change before then?
It’s Georgia weather, stick around for 15 minutes and let’s see what happens.
Chances of rain persist through the first Monday of 2025 and into the overnight hours with a high of 50 and a low of 25, and cloudy skies on Tuesday to follow and a high in the 40s.
More frigid temps are expected in the days to come, so check back for more forecasts as they require updating.
