The Rockmart Police Department’s annual help for families during the holidays is set to return this year to ensure that local youth in need still have a Merry Christmas in 2020.
The department’s Christmas is for Kids program began taking applications on Thursday for the program, and they’ll continue to allow families to apply through Friday, November 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Applicants must apply in person and provide a photo ID, the birth certificate of each child, and two items that prove residency (utility bills for instance.) Families must live in the Rockmart or Aragon area to qualify, and children must be between the ages of 2 and 12 years.
The department will include siblings who are infant to two year olds if the older sibling is approved to be part of the program.
Rockmart Police will be cross-checking with other programs to ensure applicants aren’t getting presents for children from another organization.
Those with questions can call the office at 770-684-6558 and speak with the secretary, Brooke Matthews.
